// what we collect

tapedigger works without user accounts. We don't set tracking cookies and we don't use analytics that profile you. Your saved stations are stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and never leave your device.

To understand which tracks and genres resonate, we log anonymous save, unsave and import events to our database. Each event contains the action, the Bandcamp track id and its public metadata (title, artist, cover, genre), and a random device id that is generated in your browser and rotates roughly every 30 days. We do not store your IP address, user agent or any identifier that could link events back to you across that window. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in aggregate usage statistics for a free public service).

We also keep a small server-side cache of the public tag lists attached to releases you save (scraped once from the public Bandcamp page). This cache is keyed by Bandcamp's public release id, shared across all visitors, and contains no user data — it only exists to broaden the tag profile behind your personal discover feed. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

// server logs

When you load the site, our hosting provider automatically processes standard request data (IP address, user agent, timestamp, requested URL) to deliver the page and protect against abuse. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a functioning, secure service). These logs are kept short-term and not used to profile visitors.

// third parties

Audio playback is delivered through Bandcamp's embedded player (bandcamp.com). When you press play, your browser connects directly to Bandcamp and their privacy policy applies. We don't share any personal data with them ourselves.

// your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to processing or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, contact info@polluxlabs.net.
